Nut butter is a really versatile food. Here are just a few  ways you can use it… 


  1. Stir into a bowl of porridge oat  Porridge on its own can be boring and not only that, it can be alot of carbs. A drizzle or a spoon of nut butter adds taste as well as protein.

  2. Spread on to sliced fruit. Banana, Apple, Pears any fruit you fancy! … This is a great snack. Really quick and easy and tastes great, plus you’re getting in one of your 5-a-day without even trying! The nut butter adds protein to the snack, keeping you feeling fuller for much longer than fruit on its own. Or try the naughty version, dipping cookies in it. Sssshh!

  3. With yoghurt… Natural yoghurt by it’s self can be boring and flavoured yoghurts can be full of sugar. Stirring in some nut butter makes yoghurt yum, plus you’re adding protein as well. Take it one step further and Make a pretty parfait by layering Greek yogurt with nut butter, granola, nuts, fruit, and a drizzle of honey.

  4. Frozen in between banana slices… This is a favourite. Simply slice banana, put some nut butter in between and pop it in the freezer. Transforms almost magically into an decadent ice-cream treat!

  5. With pancakes or waffles … easy! Top and smear nut butter on them bad boys! 

  6. In a smoothie… Blend nut butter into a smoothie to transform it into a “recovery” drink.

  7. Granola bars - Combine ½ cup honey with 1 cup nut butter and 3 cups rolled oats for easy, no-bake bars .

  8. Protein Balls - Make these energy balls using nut butter, chopped nuts, chopped dried fruit, and a small drizzle of honey.

  9. Breakfast quesadilla - Spice up your basic breakfast by topping a tortilla with nut butter, sliced apples, cinnamon, and a drizzle of honey for an a.m. quesadilla. This is a new thing hitting the uk!

  10. Nut butter cups – set some chocolate into a cup cake case set in fridge, add nut butter and then add more drizzled choc to top – back in the fridge! 3hrs setting in the fridge.
